To reduce the risk of mountain sickness, the scientists have to stay in these tents at 3000 m for two or more days before fully ascending to the top. It is very important to avoid strenuous activities during this time to help the acclimatization process of the human body. Therefore, reading books is the scientist's favourite activity in this phase of the expedition. The tent on the left side contains the toilet.
